The National Scholastic Sports Foundation is pleased to announce the move of its Great American Cross-Country Festival back to Cary, NC. Credited as one of the nation's foremost high school cross-country events, the Great American Cross-Country Festival returns to Cary after a three year hiatus in Hoover, Alabama.

If you, your team, or your club are competing in indoor meets please let me know and I will post them on WVRunners. Also, now is a good time to start getting me your outdoor schedule and I will post it on the calendar.  I have posted the results for a few indoor meets.

Also, congratulations to everyone for a great cross-country season. Milesplit will be on site covering the Foot Locker Nationals this Saturday December 13, 2008 at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Check back for updates.

The WV 2008 State Cross Country Championship held in Ona, WV at Cabell Midland High School had a few surprises, a few expectations, and one Status Quo. Overall there were 19 National Elites as recognized by Milesplit, there was one State course record, and there was a repeat individual champion. It was a warm and beautiful day for running and the amazing performances put on by the harriers of West Virginia were evident.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Junior Marie-Louise Asselin finished first in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y., to lead the West Virginia University cross country team to a second place finish today.
